TRS Swim-A-Thon May 17th 2008 North Rockland High School

To All Team Rockland Swimming Parents and Friends:
(Senior, Age-Group, Development and Splash ‘n Swim team members)

We are ready to do our teams FIRST Swim-A-Thon on May 17th at the North Rockland High School Pool from 12 noon-4pm. We will have refreshments during the event and Pizza after for the kids. During the Swim-A-Thon we will be able to view the latest seasons slide shows, the new Successful Sports Parenting CD from USA Swimming and the latest Motivational CD from USA Swimming “After the Gold Rush”. This is the first run of what will be a semi-annual event for the club. We are planning a similar event at the end of the summer in conjunction with the Beijing Olympic Games including an evening picnic and team viewing of the Olympic Swimming Championships Live!

We expect that officials from the school district, the School Board and Town officials from Haverstraw and Stony Point will be in attendance. It is important that we have a great family turn out for the kids and these officials to show our continued support for the facility so please come out for a couple of hours.

We have also invited the Journal News, Rockland Review and Channel 12 but have not yet heard back from them. Hopefully our club will get some support from the news outlets. Part of our fundraising initiative is our clubs continued support for learn-to-swim in our community. This year we renew this effort by supporting MAKE A SPLASH in our school to continue to offer opportunities to young children to learn-to-swim and eventually consider our sport in the future.

If you have not received your Swim-A-Thon Packet it is on the website as a PDF for printing labeled Swim-a-thon packet.

We look forward to seeing you all at the pool doing what we as parents do best, have a great time with each other while supporting our kids.

See you at the Pool!
