Jennifer Cancro, Senior Coach

Jennifer joined the TRS staff in 2004.  As a Senior Coach and Alumni of Team Rockland Jennifer brings a multitude of training drills, techniques and strategies to the team.  Jennifer plays an active role in our Metro and USS communities. Very few can match the enthusiasm and energy she gives while working with our young swimmers.  Jennifer is a well respected coach among her peers as evidence by being selected as the 2009 Metro Zone Team 13-14 Boys Coach.

Throughout her tenure as a HS and Collegiate athlete, Jennifer had realized many successes. As a student/athlete at Immaculate Heart Academy, Jennifer claimed 2 New Jersey state swimming titles and was named a YMCA All-American her senior year. While at Bucknell University (BU), Jennifer competed as a distance athlete. She currently holds the MAAC record in the Women’s 1000 free and is a member of the BU record holding 800 free relay. Jennifer helped lead the Bisons to two Patriot League Championships in 2003 and 2004 and received All Patriot League 1st team honors.

In 2004 she received her degree BA in Psychology and Sociology from Bucknell University, and her Masters in Regular and Special Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College in 2005.  Jennifer is currently a Special Education Teacher of 4 years at the Montebello Elementary School in the Ramapo CSD in Suffern, NY.

Her focus is on the pursuit of solid stroke technique as well as emphasizing the importance of quality training and how it applies to racing.
